Hey George, do you get a good range of photo books in at your work? You're right, they are pretty pricey, and that was one of the things that used to bother me a bit, but since seeing a few really nice ones lately (not exactly the ones i own) i have more of an appreciation for them. The difference in quality between the cheaper ones and expensive ones is usually pretty big, and looking through a nicely printed and presented photo book is such a wonderfull thing. Favourite? Hmm, im not sure yet, might have to get back to you on that one.

John, i checked out the Araki book you suggested and wow it looks pretty impressive. The price seems to reflect that fact also, but its now something i'll be saving for. One of the things that I liked about the "Araki by Araki" was the very brief details in the back of the book about his work. I'd love it if there was more of that though, and by the sounds of it "Araki: Self Life Death" offers this. I think it'll be the next photographic thing i buy. Thanks for the heads up. Cheers

If you like the Araki by Araki book, you really need to pick up the Phaidon one entitled "Araki: Self Life Death" the reproductions are far better AND the inclusion of many of his essays is worth the price alone. Not to mention the illustrated bibliography and several other articles of critical analysis and interviews.

Books rock. I buy one every month or so and yeah they do serve well for inspiration. Shame photo books can get really expensive but all those photos cost a bit to print.

What's your favourite book you own?
